PRODUCT: SECURE-IDLE Anti-Theft Vehicle Protection for Law Enforcement and Service Vehicles

Secure-Idle is the ultimate anti-theft device. Not only is the unit completely hidden from view, it only takes one second to activate. If an intruder tries to touch the brake pedal or shift the lever out of “park” position, the vehicle’s electrical system is automatically shut off.

Hookup sounds (horn or siren) are available (by special order only*) that will activate when the Secure-Idle system is “tripped”. Any attempt to hot-wire a vehicle by breaking the steering column also disengages the Secure-Idle system and sounds the alarm. Secure-idle cannot be used by an unauthorized person to activate the system when the vehicle is not in use.

In most cases, the keys were left in the ignition with doors unlocked while emergency personnel were busy performing their duties. Paramedics report equipment, medications and medical items stolen from unlocked ambulances.

This new model will automatically secure your in-vehicle firearm by disabling the gun lock release when the Secure-Idle is engaged.

Wiring Instructions for Gun Locks The orange wire on the Secure-Idle should be connected to Input 1 -- Pin 1 of connector E (white/brown wire) on the Whelen Smartlink. When input #1 is being used it must be in conjunction with a Secure-Idle module.

KEY-OUT
Put the vehicle in “Park”, push the button on the dashboard activating the Secure-Idle system. Turn the ignition off and remove the key. Secure-Idle’s memory sensing function allows the vehicle’s engine to keep running. What makes Secure-Idle better than competitors’ ignition override switches is that the engine and all accessories (emergency lighting, radios, heaters, air conditioners, defrosters, etc.) remain fully functional after the keys have been removed. Secure-Idle is completely compatible with 4-way flashers.
